Hair Styles for a black guy who has long hair at the top and short hair in the back.

I have 2in of hair on the top of my head and around the same amount on the sides, but the back of my head has less then both. (1in.) What are some good hair styles a black guy should get when his hair grows like this.(plz no Emo) I like short dreadlocks but the back of my head is so short the dreads would'nt look to good and it will take forever for the back to reach 2in. (it's a good for me) The really short ones I like but...u know the back of my head. So does anyone know any hair styles I could get? (NO emo, anything but that)...and no i will not cut is off and get a normal short fuzzy hair style. I only had that 1/2 my life.
