I know this becuase I had one until 2000. in the 80s people told me to get a jerry curl then they (fro's) came back in the 90s. jerry curls in the early 80s then in the late 80s flat top. also the shag and short hair for men with Vs in the back and parts. Butters, small waves. The same for women. there are always standards like short hair, braids... then there is some new stuff too...

Do you know of any hair styles that will be good for me?
i have dark brown hair. it falls to the end of my neck when fully straightened, not very long. naturally my hair is very curly. i have a hard time finding styles for my hair. i am a freshman in high school so keep that in mind. feel free to give your personal opinion. p.s. i looking for a style easily maintained.Do you know of any hair styles that will be good for me?

my hair is pretty much that short to, you should try curling your hair or in your case keeping it curly. but not to the point that you look like a poodle loose curls always look cute you can always keep straight or doin a nice pinned up look you can chechk out tutorials on youtube for short hair they really help
My hair is naturally curly too I like to apply mousse to my hair after I wash my hair and scrunch with my hands spray curl booster dry upside down with diffuser spray hairspray put a cute heade-band and do a half pony tail I'll either do one of each or both of them put together I hope this helps :)

try growing your hair out and doing layers. thats the only thing that keeps my hair tame. the shorter mine is, the curlier it gets. ask your hairstylist what she thinks you should do also

3.) Part your hair in the middle, right side, or left side.
4.) Wear a hair piece (There are nice hair pieces at Banana Republic and Jcrew.)
5.) Tie your hair in a bun and place chopsticks on either side.
6.) Use your imagination and have fun.I have mid-back length hair and I need some ideas on hair styles!!?

if its thick i wouldnt get layers i think that only adds volume. look for styles that would flatter your face shape. you should def try wearing your hair down. if your face is square or heartshaped i think a few face framing angles starting in at the chin would soften up your face. if your face is oblong try a regular angle from below your chin and maybe some long side swept bangs. if your face is round id try keeping it straight but adding some bangs. just talk to your stylist first and make sure she agrees on what would look good with your faceshape. good luck!

OK.First follow my steps for a cute style!
1.Brush hair until straight.
2.Put two dots of conditioner on hand.
3.Use one dot for top of head,and other dot for bottom.((don't rinse))

You could braid some raffia through it. I like using a green color because it looks great with brown hair. =) Either use it in a regular french braid or try one going along the side of your head. Also, I don't know if these are still around, but maybe you could also try one of those stretchy zig-zag headbands. They're good for quick-dos and still make you look great. =) Another thing you could try is to part your hair down the middle, take a small section of hair from both sides, a little above your ears...and loosely clip them together in the back.
Oh and if you want to get rid of that frizz, try using mayonnaise. Just dampen your hair, get the mayonnaise all in your hair, keep a shower cap on for at least 15 minutes, then just rinse out. Use warm (not hot) water to rinse it out, then use cold water (as cold as is comfortable for you). It will give you extra shine. Do the mayonnaise-ing once a week.

I have my hair cut really short, in a Keira Knightley crop. I love it, but it's kind of hard to do anything with. I have a formal (prom) coming up in about two months, and I really would like something nice for it, hairstyle wise. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much!

the day of prom go to a spa. get your nails done, get facials, massages etc. if they have a salon (which they most likely do) then have them wash it etc for a different look/feel with the different shampoo. then ask them to put it in hot curlers. if your hair is just to short for this then put in some fun accessories like a tiara. or some clip in (or even permanant) extensions for make it long for your special night. if you dont want to buy fake or real extensions and you think accessories would be tacky then maybe dye it a different color. if you woudlnt want to do that then maybe just a wash out color that lasts for like 2-3 weeks. if that is still not possible the maybe get a colored streak the color of your dress. so like purple if you have a purple dress. you can buy cheap dyes that washes out after 3 days. good luck!Short hair styles for a prom?

I'm not too great at hair, so I'm looking for an easy hair style I can do, but I need some hair down coz I look really bad if I don't... dunno why. Asian hair styles for layered medium length hair?

According to your face shape, I think full bangs would suit you and with that you can have your hair cut in layers but make sure that your shortest layer length should be to your chin or below it. As you want to try something different this hairstyle would suit you ;)

I'm looking for fun hairstyles for competition season for my hip-hop dance team.

I'm not sure if you meant cut or style as in up do's, I think the best cut to go for is to have layers to thin out your hair a little bit and make it easier to style and give it some life as you say you have straight hair, also feathering around the face is always flattering. (fringes are also big but this depends on your face shape wether it'll suit you or not)
As for styles the french plait is big this season, the quickest way to sass up your hair is with cute grips etc. just have fun, get lots of Kirby grips and pin odd sections of hair back, that's what I call my complicated hair style to my husband, although actually its easier than trying to do something ';neat'; to me, sorry to go on, hope this helps a little =D

I don't know what you look like, but when you go for your next haircut, maybe you could cut it shorter with some angles and get some volume in it. You can get volume on the top when you pull up a chunk of hair and pick it with a comb underneath. lay it back down and neaten it out, then spray it with some volumizing spray. if you like your long hair, try getting layers. All you have to do is sort of straighten your hair but on an angle and twist the hair straighteners as you release each section of hair. You can do a ton with short hair! Get some kind of molding wax (like Tigi or Bedhead) to separate your hair into that ';piecy'; look. Tease the top (buy a teasing comb and backcomb it, use a little hairspray, then gently comb out wild strands and knots with your fingertips). You can pin the top up in kind of a bubble look if you want to go trendy. If you want to get a little bolder, throw some highlights in. The messy look is in, if you want to style it a little more, taper/razor edge the side from around the top of your cheekbone stepping down. Then use the molding wax to piece the strands out.
As far as makeup tricks go, that depends on your style and where you are going (you don't want to go to work looking like you're ready to hit the bars!) But, if you're looking for some little tricks, here are a few I use:
Run your eyelash curler under a blowdryer for about 10 seconds before curling your eyelashes. Test on your hand first, sometimes it gets a little too hot.
Toothbrushes make great eyebrow brushes.
Wet your eyeshadow brush and apply the eyeshadow as eyeliner. You can smudge it out for a smokier look. Or, you can use the wet eyeshadow as a more dramatic effect of eyeshadow.
Use a powder meant for darker complection as a bronzer. It looks much more natural than most bronzers that have the sparkles in them.

I am going on a cruise Veterans day weekend one night for dinner it is formal. I am wearing a red dress that is a loose v neck and has sleeves. I have no idea what to do with my hair!!!! Any ideas? My hair is golden brown and comes just below my shoulders. I need help the style cant be too hard because I have to do it and I wont have much time only about 1 hr. draped CHIGNON: part the hair of the front half of ur head. comb the side hair %26amp; scoop the bakck hair into a low ponytail. Loosely braid the ponytail, secure with small band, tuck end under in a loop %26amp; secure with hair pins. take the loose hair on the left %26amp; comb it in a curve back to the ponytail. swirl this hair over %26amp; under the loop %26amp; secure with pins. do the same to the left.
PLAITY BUN: if u put ur hair in a ponytail %26amp; mini-plait the ends for the day, in ur hour to get ready u can pin them around it, creating a mass of loops. looks great, i used it 4 a party once.
TWISTy BUN: put all hair in a high ponytail. divide off a small section of hair %26amp; mist with shine spray(optional) holding the ends of the section, twist the hair until it rolls bakc on itself to form a coil. position th ecoil in a loop on ur head %26amp; secure with pins. do this to sections of hair until all hair is used. decorate by intertwining a strip of sequins/ribbon/
FRENCH TWIST: backcomb all hair. smooth across to centre back %26amp; form the centre of the pleat by criss-crossing bobby-pins in a row from the crown downwards (holds the hair to one side.) smooth hair around from other side (covers pins), leaving front section free, %26amp; tuck ends under. secure with pins, then lightly comb the front section up and around to merge with the top of the pleat. mist with hairspray to hold.

I like blond hair that isn't all kinked up like in a permanent. The page boy style cut can be great, but wearing it long and straight can be just as hot. (I don't care if the hair is bleached or natural, in my opinion bleaching your hair is no different then the many things a woman does to make herself pretty.)
The style can vary by the attitude you want to project. Hillary Clinton, and Martha Stewart seem to like short hair so they will look more professional. Glamorous movie stars and models like longer hair, but Meg Ryan likes the short and sassy look.
I love a long haired woman. blonde brunett ginger its all good as long as your beautiful and you take care of yourself than guys will noticE.
On African girls, my favorite is shoulder length hair, dark, sweeping back on one side, covering an eye is cute. On Caucasian girls, the darker the better - Katherine McPhee is the best example I can give.

(I don't care if the hair is bleached or natural, in my opinion bleaching your hair is no different then the many things a woman does to make herself pretty.)
The style can vary by the attitude you want to project. Hillary Clinton, and Martha Stewart seem to like short hair so they will look more professional. Glamorous movie stars and models like longer hair, but Meg Ryan likes the short and sassy look.
I love a long haired woman. blonde brunett ginger its all good as long as your beautiful and you take care of yourself than guys will noticE.
On African girls, my favorite is shoulder length hair, dark, sweeping back on one side, covering an eye is cute. On Caucasian girls, the darker the better - Katherine McPhee is the best example I can give.

Another look is getting your hair damp, braid it, leave it over night and in the morning it will be wavy. If you want more waves you can french braid it. Do tight braids for smaller waves and loose braids for larger waves.

A cute look is taking two front parts of your hair, braiding them and pinning them back, this look is similar to the half-up half-down but has a bit of a hippy twist.
Another look is getting your hair damp, braid it, leave it over night and in the morning it will be wavy. If you want more waves you can french braid it. Do tight braids for smaller waves and loose braids for larger waves.

My hair is long. I need help with some hair styles up in a pony tail?
ok so I work at waffle house so I have to wear my hair up but I get tired of tha sam old toss up all the time. I need help with cool toss ups for long hair pleaseMy hair is long. I need help with some hair styles up in a pony tail?
I have not done this myself because I have short hair, but I do know people who have and it works great. It will take you a little time so it's not for those days when you're running late to work!
First, wash your hair and condition it. Then pull all the damp hair up into a high ponytail on the top back of your head. Separate into sections and twist till they start to curl back on themselves, twist all the way to the end and pin in place. Repeat with all the sections. The advantage to this is that it will stay smooth on your head all day, and when you take it down you'll have nice wavy curls.
Another idea is to pull it up into a high ponytail and then braid the ponytail, that looks cute and stays out of your way also. If you do it with damp hair, again you will have waves when you take it down.

The first one is using a very large hair claw clip.( I recommend buying one from Claire's($6), though it will eventually break, so keep back-ups.) Put it in a low-sitting, tightish ponytail, twist, clip vertically, and muss up the remaining over-hanging bits, which should conceal the clip completely. I'd call it casual-sassy. It gives you the look of having lots of body.
The other thing I can do without much fuss is put hair up in two pony tails, horozontally, close together, section medium-sized strands off, put them into braids( making sure to secure the ends with small, translucent rubber bands), then go nuts, tie the two sides together, into symetrical knots, tuck ends under resulting bun, and secure with as many bobby pins as you feel comfortable with. It can look Asian-inspired if you do it right, but if you do it badly, you may look like the schnitzel girl at Oktoberfest.
I like to garnish either style with a flower. Get a fake one that you like, attach it to a bobby pin. Stick it in the right side if you're single, the left side if you're married, or the oppossite side of side-swept bangs.

one thing you can do is scrunch it, mouse , gel , and hairspray. Take a shower . Let your hair dry a little (so it is still damp) then scrunch in mouse and gel and finish with hairspray.
Straighten it one day , then curl it the next. try diffrent parts ( like a side part or middle). You can put it in a messy bun.

well she always wears her hair up soo idk if thats what you mean... um if you wanted to do that, leave out pieces of hair when put up your average high ponytail then grab another hair elastic and create a messy bun, to create that affect push your fingers through the gathered hair so that you are gradually pulling out strands... i think that should work
ps don't forget the big hoop earrings!
